Convert CSV to Excel

Open a CSV and download it as an Excel workbook, with numbers, percentages and dates stored as real numbers and dates rather than text. Open several CSV files at once and each becomes its own sheet in one workbook.

How to do it

  1. Drop one or more CSV files on the box above.
  2. Tidy anything you like first. Clean up shows what’s messy.
  3. Open the Download menu and choose Workbook (.xlsx).

Questions

Can I convert Excel to CSV instead?

Yes. Open the .xlsx file, then choose the table under Download to save it as a CSV. Each sheet can be saved separately.

Are dates and percentages kept as numbers?

Yes. Excel gets real dates and percentages with matching formats, so they sort and add up in Excel.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Tidytable reads the file in your browser tab, on your own computer. There’s no server that sees your rows, no account, and nothing to delete afterwards.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no limit on how many files you open.
